We are in the surrounding area of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, one of the few Portuguese regions blessed with snowfall, and currently comprising a set of very nice attractions to the visitor. In good weather the area is very inviting for hiking and tracking.
The castles sprinkling the region are also worthy of notice, as well as several historic villages that you can visit a little over an hour away. We can not fail to mention the famous Serra cheese and the fine wines that are produced in this demarcated wine region.
In the village of Unhais da Serra, only 7 minutes by car you may take advantage of a spa and the thermae treatments specialized in respiratory, circulatory and digestive problems and rheumatologic diseases. During the summer months you can also enjoy a natural river pool.
